  • Tilton House – a weekend retreat with Claire Saunders and Emma Spencer-Goodier
    18-20th May 2018

Emma and Claire are delighted to be offering The Sukha Sessions – a weekend to explore the blissful nature of the Self, to connect with your wild soul through the practices of yoga, stories and sweetness whilst nestled in this lovely historic house. Fire pits, wild ancient landscapes, botanical delights, yurts, saunas and clean wide skies and the sea airs. This will be a fairly yoga intense weekend, so will suit regular practitioners with a minimum of 6 months consistent yoga practice, although we will make time for a walk on Saturday afternoon in the footsteps of the Bloomsbury ghosts who walked, reflected and escaped to these hills to feed their muse. Alternatively you could curl up in the library and enjoy some relaxing peace.

  • Blue Zone: Yoga Retreat with Gillian Evans 28th July-4th August 2018

Fed up of grey skies and shivering temperatures? Need something to look forward to? Maybe it's time to try a yoga retreat. Gillian Evans, our resident anthropologist, who teaches the Friday evening and Saturday morning hatha yoga classes has organised a week-long retreat in Ikaria, Greece from the 28th July to the 4th August 2018.

Ikaria - a magical island in the Aegean sea - is one of the world's five Blue Zones. These are the rare locations on the planet identified by anthropologists as the places where humans are enjoying the longest, healthiest, happiest lives, living most often to be a hundred years old and more. Here, there is everything to learn about the secrets of how to be well, live life to the full and sustain a healthy existence.

The life style secrets of Blue Zones include putting family first ahead of other concerns; semi-vegetarianism – the majority of food consumed is derived from plants; constant moderate physical activity – an inseparable part of life; social engagement – people of all ages are socially active and integrated into their communities; legumes – commonly consumed; having a strong life purpose; less stress; less time pressure; less smoking; moderate but regular intake of red wine; engagement in community/spiritual life. Where better to enjoy a yoga retreat than Ikaria where Blue Zone living is all around.
