Krista first stepped onto a yoga mat during her final year at University, she was looking for something healthy to ‘do’ having spent the first two years socialising and clubbing! She soon realised that yoga wasn’t really about doing and found it that instead it bought a stillness and focus into her life. In 2013 she completed a Teacher Training diploma at Triyoga, one of London’s leading centres, with Jean Hall and Mimi Kuo Deemer. She also has a BSc in Physiology and Pharmacology.
Krista is a keen runner and cyclist and believes that a regular yoga practice compliments these disciplines by developing flexibility, strength, balance and mental focus.
10.00 - 11.00am Yoga Flow & Stretch £10 drop in or £55 for 6 weeks
**January Offer - 4 classes for the price of 3 - £30**
Classes combine dynamic movement and stretches to create physical & muscular balance, strength and flexibility.
We generally start with a short relaxation; bringing awareness to the body and breathing to help calm the mind and prepare for the practice. This is followed by a slow flowing practice, where poses (asanas) are interlinked with the breath to mobilise and warm up the body. Each pose may be held for one or several breaths. Emphasis is placed on breathing, body awareness and healthy alignment, in order to develop strength, flexibility and focus.
Longer held stretches in the second half of the class aim to address muscular imbalances and encourage healthy movement by targeting muscles that are commonly shortened, either through repetitive use from activities such as playing sports, running, cycling, or from underuse such as sitting down at desk all day!
Each class finishes with a relaxation (savasana) or short seated meditation so the benefits of the practice can be absorbed.
Modifications and props will be available to make the classes accessible to all.
