Alan has been studying and practicing yoga for over 20 years. He originally came to yoga seeking help for a serious back injury that had kept him off work for over six months. As someone who had been pretty inactive in life up to that period, the transformative nature of yoga then became very evident.
Over the years Alan has been influenced by a great many different teachers, styles and approaches. His main teaching style is Vinyasa Flow, a dynamic style that enables poses and sequences to be creatively explored in a challenging yet safe and centered manner. His teaching approach is friendly, down to earth and all inclusive; the classes he teach often include students who are complete beginners alongside very experienced students. Alignment and using the breath are key features he emphasize which helps with focus, balance and poise throughout the practice.
