Studio Kooks is run by three experienced teachers of movement, Jean Hall, Alison Henning and Kathy King, who have many years both teaching and taking yoga and Pilates classes in and around London and abroad. They have a first hand understanding of what makes for a wonderful space in which to practice and teach.
What is now Studio Kooks, was once the library in the elegant and inspiring 18th century Mansion in Beckenham Place Park. The Mansion has been refurbished and is being redeveloped by the people who regenerated the Copeland Estate in Peckham, which now is home to the Bussey building – the heart of creativity in the centre of Peckham.
The Mansion is to be a community centre – with artist studios, music events, courses for children and & adults and much more. Studio Kooks is delighted to be a part of this community, offering a particularly lovely and unique space for yoga and Pilates.
Our vision is to create a lively and welcoming hub for movement practices serving people of all ages and all abilities; class levels will range from complete beginners to advanced; from gentle and restorative to strong and dynamic; from Kids Yoga to Seniors Pilates and Mindfulness courses.
Taking inspiration from the beautiful setting of Beckenham Place Park, we also offer the studio for weekend workshops, master classes and half day and day retreats to step out of the urban busy-ness and into the nurturing space of nature. We invite everyone to Studio Kooks and encourage your thoughts and ideas for classes, workshops, retreats and events.
Are you interested in running regular classes or ad-hoc events at Studio Kooks? Our beautiful, fully equipped space is available to hire. Please contact us to discuss your requirements firstname.lastname@example.org.
I have to tell you I was so so delighted with how the day went - it was absolutely wonderful. Such an amazing space and loved teaching there. So good to have all of the props there - as I normally have to lug all of mine around so made my life a whole lot easier. We had everything we needed. The acoustics were brilliant. Everyone was so chilled out afterwards and they all loved the venue and the surroundings. I've had excellent feedback from my clients. They got the opportunity to go for walks around the park in between the yoga and mindfulness sessions which they loved.
